Updating your maps and mods (e.g. DLC content)

To change away from the default data you need to create new data and settings files. For this you need to generate these settings files with your locally installed game, and then upload these files to the server.
We will explain the process below.

Enable console

First, you need to activate the in-game console. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Search the file config.cfg of the client
-> You can find it under the following path:
    C:\User\UserName\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2
  2. In this file you have to change 2 values
    g_developer “0” –> g_developer “1
    g_console “0” –> g_console “1”

Create the configuration files

After you activate the console, start the game and log in to your profile.

  1. Now set up your convoy (including the mods you want to use)
  2. You can ignore name, password and description at this point, because the generated server_config.sii doesn’t care about these settings
  3. After your convoy is set up, press the key ~
-> This should open the console at the bottom of the screen
  4. Type the following command in the console and press ENTER:
    export_server_packages
-> you should get a confirmation for success
  5. Now go again to the folder of the client where the config.cfg file (e.g. C:\User\UserName\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2)
  6. Search here for the following files:
    server_packages.sii
    server_packages.dat

Copy to the server

The next step is to copy the files via FTP or the file manager into the following directory: :
-> config/Euro Truck Simulator 2/
