FAQ

My server doesn't show up on the server list website!?
We've recently noticed that not all servers show up on the wmdportal server list website, despite the server working correctly. Please check for the server in the ingame server list instead.
If the server does not show up there try updating it with the steam update option in the control panel, afterwards check the server.cfg file and make sure the name is set correctly. Restart the server to apply the changes to the server.cfg file.

How can I control the servers configuration?
There are two modes the server can run in, one of them allows the players to control the race settings the other mode keeps the server in control of the race settings.

You can use this Dedicated Server Config Generator tool from http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?38221-Standalone-GUI-Dedicated-Server-Config-Generator-V0-51-Patch-3-0 to make a configuration file for your game server. Please check this file with notepad and make sure you use the correct IP, ports and slots which have been assigned to your server (you should use the values that were originally set in your server.cfg file, if you overwrite it you can reinstall the game server under the actions tab in the control panel to restore the original configuration).

Where can I find more information about hosting a dedicated server?
Your server has a few .pdf files in the root directory, which contain usefull information about the servers configuration and LUA scripts. As well as a GameGuide which explains how to join a server.
Additional information about the dedicated server and it's configuration can be found at: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22370-Dedicated-Server-HowTo-%28Work-in-Progress%29

What happens once I click the “Vote to start session” button?
Once you click the Vote to start session the session you’ve configured will be sent to your server. Therefore the session will be hosted on the server. The person who creates the session and sends it to the server is the one who’s “ admin “. This person can decide future track & cars combination. This person cannot kick or ban users from the server.

What happens if the person who created the race session of the server leaves?
Once the person who created the session leaves, the next user available on the server (connected to it) will become administrator. If that person also leaves it will be given to the next user online.

What happens if everyone leaves the server?
If a server is empty, the server will automatically be marked as “lobby”. This mean that someone who joins the server can create a new race and adjust the location, vehicle, conditions and race restrictions settings (unless these are configured and locked in your server's configuration).
